Four weeks ago, the InterNations team celebrated the sixth birthday of our worldwide expat community, as well as a whopping 100,000 fans on our Facebook page. Now, almost one month later to the day, we have yet another reason to pop the corks and clink our glasses: We are counting down to the 1 millionth InterNations member.
We are already excited about this milestone, looking forward to welcoming our member no. 1,000,000. Of course, we want him or her to share our celebratory mood, together with our entire member base in every country around the globe. Therefore, we have various treats for all of you in store.
As far as our “one in a million” member is concerned, we have thought of a special surprise. What is it? We will let you know once we introduce you to the lucky new arrival in the InterNations network. Stay tuned!
We should probably reach the magic number with the many zeros early next week. This date will also be the kick-off for our “one million members” events in more than 350 cities around the world. We have asked our Ambassador teams in the Local Communities to get creative and organize something extra for the upcoming October events.
Not only can the expat crowd in Munich, the home of InterNations, enjoy dancing the night away at some of the most famous and most glamorous in-places in town. Plenty of InterNations Communities great and small have also come up with their own way of honoring this occasion. 
We proudly present a rooftop party in Washington D.C. (USA) – a singer-songwriter performance in Heidelberg (Germany) – cocktails and live music in Beijing (China) – a Halloween party in Belgrade (Serbia) – an Alpine soirée in London (UK) – Happy Hour all night long in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) – a party at one of the most exclusive cafés/clubs in Milan (Italy) – canapés, cognac, and cake, kindly provided by sponsors Park Hotel and Hennessy, in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) – a lucky draw in Guangzhou (China) – and the list goes and on…
So, please check the official event calendar on InterNations and save the date for the next October get-together. And if you hurry and invite your international friends to share the InterNations experience and join you at the gathering, they may have a shot at becoming our member 1,000,000.
