Cuddly Toys & Actual Lions: Moving to Cape Town with My Kids

In this guest post, InterNations Founder Malte explains what it means to relocate with a family of six from Germany to South Africa and shares some tips on moving with children. Previously, he discussed his expat experience from a business perspective in this article.

After years spent in Munich, relocating to Cape Town let him put his expat shoes back on and relive the experience of our community members. A customer-centric mindset was also essential to persuade four legally non-competent, but very powerful stakeholders to join him in South Africa — his children.

Off Duty: Six Stances on Sustainability in the InterNations Team

Does sustainability play a major role in your personal life? Do you eat only locally grown food, compost organic household waste, and ride your bike everywhere? Or are you fairly new to this topic and find such behavior a bit puzzling?

InterNations introduced our Sustainability Initiative in January 2020, and we officially became a carbon-neutral company about a year ago. Looking back at this milestone, we were interested in what individual team members think about this issue. We’ve asked six of them how they view sustainability in general and what role, if any, it plays in their life. The resulting range of opinions is rather wide — and hopefully thought provoking.

Off Duty: Our Favorite Cities All around the World

Off Duty: How Language Changed Their Lives
