This is not the title of the German remake of “Pelham 123” about the hijacking of a Munich underground train. Rather, the mysterious code denotes the floors in our office building which are now occupied by InterNations! Yes, InterNations is moving ahead – or should we say “moving up”, given that our new offices have moved upstairs.
With a constantly growing team, we felt the need for more space quite urgently already some months ago. Soon after the decision to acquire additional floor space in our building had been made, the planning process began, and it didn’t take long for us to get properly excited about the impending move. Considering that only a few years ago, a couple of rooms were sufficient to accommodate the whole InterNations team, this is quite a step forward.
Mild chaos was inevitable when we proceeded from the preparation phase to the active stages of our move. No matter how often you’ve been involved in a move yourself, you will almost certainly underestimate the amount of work and time it takes up. So never mind how well you organize everything, it is impossible to plan for such eventualities as furniture not arriving in time, electricians taking much longer to complete a job than anticipated, etc… The list is endless. As soon as several different parties get involved, nothing ever goes according to plan!
Considering all this, InterNations team members Amelie and Corinna did a great job managing our office move! With competence, confidence and a lot of patience they kept on top of everything, so that after weeks of sharing our offices with cardboard boxes and half-assembled furniture we are now on the home stretch: The final touches will be done this weekend, and when we come in on Monday morning we’ll sit down to work at our big, shiny new desks in a tidy and spacious new office. Now there’s something to look forward to!
