General Moderation Policy
The comment section of this blog is pre-moderated. This means that all comments are approved by us before they become visible to everyone.
We will do our best to publish all comments that meet our guidelines as soon as possible. However, there may be some delay in publishing comments made after working hours, over the weekend, or during public holidays.
In order to leave a comment, you need to provide a name and a valid email address. Only our blog administrators can see your email address; of course, we will not share it with others.
By submitting a comment, you also agree to follow the guidelines below.
Comment Guidelines
This is the kind of comments we’d love to see on our blog:
- On topic and/or relevant to an ongoing discussion
- Providing constructive criticism
- Polite, respectful, tolerant of other people and their opinions
- Written in English
However, we’d rather not have the following comments:
- Advertising any products or services not affiliated with InterNations
- Hate speech, such as racism, sexism, or other forms of discrimination
- Pornography, sexual content, graphic violenc
- Abusive language, personal attacks, insults, defamation
- Anything that violates criminal law or incites criminal offenses
- Off-topic and irrelevant comments
- Comments in languages other than English, for purely practical reasons
We reserve the right to delete, to edit, or not to approve any comments (especially if they violate our guidelines), to change these guidelines, and to disable comments altogether, at any time and at our own discretion.
If necessary, we may also block individual commenters as identified by their email address and/or IP address.
Privacy & Intellectual Property Rights
Please be careful when deciding to share personal details online: don’t post any contact information (e.g. home address, phone numbers) or other private or confidential information (e.g. credit card numbers) in your comments.

Moreover, be mindful of other people’s intellectual property rights: don’t copy and post others’ material, trademarks, or intellectual property (e.g. quotes, pictures, videos) unless you have their express permission. If you want to share a picture, a video, etc., you also need the permission of the people it represents.
