On the last Event in Mexico City InterNations members from 20 countries attended: Mexico, Brasil, USA, Colombia, Netherlands, Belgium, Argentina, Autria, Switzerland, Canada, Spain, Germany, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Ecuador, France, England, Venezuela, Peru and Paraguay. For their last (and most successful) meeting in 2008, the Mexico City Community returned to an old favourite venue, as proposed by InterNations Ambassador Danilo Souza. Numerous expats from the Netherlands, the USA, China, Switzerland, France, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Spain, Venezuela, and Argentina enjoyed the rightly famous pizzas at Piola and looked back on an eventful and joyous year, at nine great Get-Togethers and countless new friendships, with contentment and satisfaction.

“Back to the roots” could have been the motto for the latest InterNations event in Mexico City, as InterNations Ambassador Danilo Souza and the local community continued their journey through the charming Condesa neighbourhood. After more than six months of successful events, the motley expat crowd from Brazil, the US, France, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Argentina, Malaysia, Italy, Spain, Nepal and Germany returned to the venue where it had all started: the hip Geisha House where they could enjoy a delicious sushi combo roll as well as each other’s company and have a toast to many more Get-Togethers to come!

For a slightly belated birthday party to celebrate the first anniversary of InterNations on September 18, the Mexico City Community and Ambassador Danilo de Souza headed back to the charming neighbourhood of Condesa. At the ecclectic Tgallery, in an eccentric, but stylish environment that manages to combine the retro, the antique and the modern, members from all over the world (from Brasil, Mexico, Paraguay, Argentina, Peru, Panama, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, the US, Canada, Denmark, Colombia… ) were toasting the success of their online network no 1. Cheers!

No, that’s not a typo which you seem to spot in the headline. The Skyybar in Polanco, one of the most glamorous parts of Mexico City, was chosen by our Ambassador Danilo Souza for the latest InterNations night in town. Despite an unfortunately rather short-term invitation, a surprisingly large number of expatriates from Canada, the USA, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Paraguay, Peru, Brasil, Argentina, Germany, Switzerland, France, Portugal, the UK and Denmark turned up for tasting the bar’s famouse sushi, sashimi and carpaccios while listening to a bit of modern world-music in the appealing modern environment.
