Praising InterNations Dublin

For the second Get-Together in the Irish capital — whose modern Gaelic name, Baile Átha Cliath, you can spot in the festive street decorations in the first picture below — InterNations Ambassador Matthias Kittler selected quite an extraordinary location: The Church, a pub that actually used to serve as a — yes, you have guessed it — church before the magnificent 17th-century building was secularized in the 1980s.

Maybe St Mary’s (as it was formerly called) was, however, destined to become one of the most popular cafes and bars in town, considering that none other than Arthur Guinness of brewery fame was married there in 1761. Now, over 300 years later, the small but lively international crowd from Austria, Germany, Denmark, the US, India and Panama could raise their glasses for a toast in his honour and, of course, to celebrate InterNations.
