A Japanese Night in Portugal
Kampai and itadakimasu — ‘cheers’ and ‘enjoy your meal’ — were the two mottos of the most recent InterNations Get-Together in Lisbon. Last Tuesday, on October 28, Ambassadors Chris Warman and Jose Matos hosted a Japanese evening for their members. At the elegant Japa Restaurante, their guests could whet their appetite with a drink first and, if they wanted to, stay for a full dinner later. Such delicacies as miso soup, a sushi mix, salmon teriyaki, lime sorbet or green-tea ice-cream delighted the attendees and made everyone leave with a heart-felt arigatou gozaimasu — ‘thank you’ — on their lips.
