InterNations Ghabga Dinner in Manama

During the month of Ramadan, Ghabga dinners are very popular in many Islamic countries, like Kuwait or Bahrain. This social occasion is a dinner invitation taking place in the evening, after the break of the traditional fast, where family or friends meet and copious amounts of rich, indulgent food are served.

As this year’s Ramadan is drawing to its close, our Ambassador in Manama, Sonya Shaykhoun, invited the members of her community to such a Ghabga gathering last Thursday. The elegant evening at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Bahrain was a charming, low-key Get-Together, where the expats from the UK, Kenya, the USA, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Germany, Canada, Scotland, and Lebanon had the chance of getting to know each other better. The meal was excellent, but the company was even better!

(Thank you, Sonya, for the photos!)
