In the InterNations Community in Amsterdam, a tradition has slowly begun to emerge: From now on, Ambassador Roxana Popistasu will be hosting an official Get-Together on every first Thursday on the month, starting with September 4th. Expatriates from Romania, the UK, Germany, France, Portugal, the US, and various other countries were looking forward to the event – and their expectations weren’t disappointed. It would be useless to say that they had a great time because that has become a “rule of thumb” for all their meetings by now.

As always, the café Canvas op de 7e offered them a perfect venue for casual and animated socializing as well as its popular panoramic view of the city. Will autumn having arrived in the Netherlands, they weren’t able to stay on the terrace anymore; but this merely made them enjoy the cozy atmosphere inside the more, squeezing together on the sofas as new people showed up. Talking about past holidays and future travel plans, professional projects (which sounded like Greek to some), speaking in and about foreign languages (which sounded like Greek to others), getting acquainted with newcomers and getting back in touch with familiar faces — these were the ingredients for a wonderful evening.
